Fayad Law, P.C. Achieves U Visa for El Salvadorian Woman

GET THE LEGAL HELP YOU NEED

Our team at Fayad Law, P.C. recently achieved success in the case of an El Salvadorian woman who was seeking a U visa in a complex case. Our client was with her 3-year-old daughter at the cash register at a store on Jefferson Davis Highway in 2009, when three armed men entered and robbed them.

Luckily the woman was not harmed physically, but she was deeply traumatized by the event. We assisted our client in filing for a U visa in 2012, and received approval in December 2013. We included our client’s husband as derivative, so he should also receive approval soon.

The U visa is for victims of criminal activity who have suffered some form of mental or physical abuse and are willing to assist law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators.

In regards to this complicated case, Attorney Tamar Jones said, “I am very pleased with the recent approval of our client’s U visa application. Our client was the victim of a traumatizing crime and assisted police in their attempt to apprehend the criminals. The U visa continues to be an important benefits for immigrants, especially those without valid status who are often afraid to speak to the police and feel they have no recourse when they are the victims of criminal acts. This was a great outcome for our client and her family!”
