Alien Relative Petition Leads to Closure of Removal Proceedings

GET THE LEGAL HELP YOU NEED

Recently, Attorney Tamar Jones and our team at Fayad Law, P.C. were able to help a client obtain an administrative closure of removal proceedings so that he could remain in the country with his wife and child. The man had originally entered the U.S. without a valid status, but since that time has gotten married to a U.S. citizen and the couple has had a child together.

As no immigration paperwork was completed at the time to adjust his status, the man was eventually placed into removal proceedings. When the couple hired our firm, we worked quickly to file a Form I-130, Alien Relative Petition on his behalf. Once the petition was approved we were able to get our client’s removal proceedings closed administratively.

As a result, he will now be able to apply for a Provisional Waiver to demonstrate the hardship his wife would be forced to endure if he had to return to Mexico. While he awaits a final decision on the waiver, he will be allowed to remain with his family without fear of deportation or other immigration actions being taken against him.

In regards to the case, Attorney Jones said: “I am very pleased with this outcome for our client and look forward to assisting them through the remainder of the process!”
